National Occupational Standards

The National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Hypnotherapy were published in 2002 by Skills for Health, the Sector Skill Council for the UK health industry, which is part of the NHS. They provide minimum standards of competence and good practice for the hypnotherapy profession, and assume a generic and “holistic” psychotherapeutic philosophy.

The NOS are composed of practical and theoretical components which are divided across the following three units.
